Fiddlin' Around

August 8, 2018

High school sports pre-season practices are getting underway this week and you athletes might be tired after a long practice session. You can rest up in the evenings and overnight.

But this weekend is also expected to be the optimal time to view the annual Perseid meteor showers during the late evening/night-time hours! So you could recoup a little energy by lying on your back in a dark rural location away from the city lights. That's what some Perseids Shower experts recommend for seeing the most sky at night.

Hopefully you players won't be so tired from those strenuous practice sessions that you would fall asleep as you're trying to catch a meteor in action. And also be sure to wear some mosquito repellent, unless you want to stay awake be swatting mosquitoes. That advice goes for you adult Perseid watchers too! Mosquitoes or Meteors? Tough call, especially since they both begin with the letter "M"!
