2019 Ipswich Snow Queen crowned

2019 Junior Miss Ipswich Emily DeRaad, senior runner-up Abigail Grabowska and 2019 Miss Ipswich Aleah Steger.

The 2019 Ipswich Snow Queen Festival had "A Touch of Class" on Saturday evening, Nov. 10 in the School Theatre.

The 2018 Snow Queen Abigail Noltner crowned her successor. The 2019 Snow Queen is Aleah Steger. Steger was also chosen Miss Congeniality. The first runner-up was Abigail Grabowska.

2018 Junior Miss Ipswich Lindsey Grabowska crowned the 2019 Junior Miss Ipswich - Emily DeRaad.

Prince Lux Heinz, "Frosty" Joe Hoyle and Princess Harmony Geditz

The 2018 Snow Queens, Abigail Noltner and Lindsey Grabowska interviewed the Princess and Prince contestants. They asked each first grader a few questions. Then the youngsters sang. The winners, chosen at random, were Princess Harmony Geditz and Prince Lux Heinz.

The 2019 Senior Citizens Snow Queen Margaret Wurst was introduced. She was chosen by the residents and staff at Ipswich Care and Rehabilitation.

Bill Morgan was the emcee for the evening.

After several weeks of clues, the new queen helped unmask this year's Frosty - Joe Hoyle. Jamie Stiles was the first to guess Frosty's identity.


Musical entertainment was provided by soloists Jayna Sanborn and Alanna Wiedrich, who was accompanied by Amy Heinz.

Miss Ipswich Aleah and Junior Miss Ipswich Emily will compete in the 73rd South Dakota Snow Queen Festival, to be held January 4-12, 2019.

This year's Ipswich Snow Queen Festival was sponsored by the Ipswich Commercial Club.
