Fiddlin' Around

November 14, 2018

Well, it's been unbelievably chilly for this time of the year, down right cold with even colder wind chills. Fortunately November's moisture so far hasn't produced any permanent snow cover. But there's plenty of time for that stuff later this month or better yet in December.

It also sounds like winter is right around the corner with basketballs replacing footballs and volleyballs (we've even attended a college game or two). But for three area Class B high school volleyball teams, Northwestern, Warner and Faulkton, all out of the Lake Region Conference, there was one more week of volleyball practice in preparation for this weekend's State B in Sioux Falls. Northwestern and Warner had met in the state title game last year, won Northwestern. But I understand that it will be Faulkton's second ever trip to a state volleyball meet. That team will also be our lone Region 2B rep that qualified for this year's B Tournament.

This is also Turkey Days in Ipswich on Thursday, Friday and Saturday for those businesses that are open on Saturday. So stop in and register at the participating business places. Each business will draw for their own turkey and you could be eating turkey on Thanksgiving Day and turkey leftovers over the weekend.
