Celebrating the reason for the season

Local churches will celebrate the Christmas season next week. Schedules for local churches include:

Holy Cross, Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) and St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Churches: St. Thomas the Apostle in Roscoe will have a Christmas Eve Mass at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24. The OLPH Church in Leola will have a Christmas Eve service at 8 p.m. The Holy Cross Church in Ipswich will have a Christmas Eve Mass at Midnight. The choir will begin singing at 11:30 p.m. There will be a Christmas service at 9 a.m. at Holy Cross Church.

First Baptist Church will have a Birthday Party for Jesus at 9 a.m. on Dec. 23 during the Sunday School hour. A program and breakfast will be part of the time. Christmas will be celebrated during the Dec. 23 service at 10 a.m. There will be no Dec. 24 service.

Richland Wesleyan invites you to worship with them on Christmas Eve. The service of carols, candles and special music will begin at 6 p.m.


United Church of Christ will have a Christmas Eve service at 5:30 p.m.

Zion Lutheran Church will have a Christmas Eve service at 7:30 p.m. There will be a 11 a.m. Christmas Day service.
