Mission trip to Haiti planned, your donations will help

Jerome and Geralyn Malsom of Hosmer will be part of the Avera January 2019 mission team to Jeremie, Haiti.

Donations will be collected through Sunday, January 6, 2019. Needed at the Gatineau clinic are small tubes of muscle rub, toothbrushes and toothpaste.

Needed for the children at Mother Theresa's (now St. Theresa of Calcutta) orphanage are new or gently worn athletic shoes for children ages 2 to 8.

Cash donations made out to the Avera Foundation will be used to purchase prescription medications. Cash donations made out to the Malsom's will be used for ongoing projects, for the; treatment of diabetic patients at the clinic, goat program, save a family program and the water and sanitation community development program.

Geralyn said Haitians, of all ages, appreciate matchbox cars.

Last year, donations received included 150 pounds of supplies (clothing, toys and medications), $3,000.00 for the water and sanitation project, $1,000.00 for the save a family program, $900.00 for the purchase of goats for eight families, $265.00 for the Avera Foundation and $100.00 given to the Mother Theresa orphanage.
