Fiddlin' Around

January 2, 2019

Our wintry weather played havoc with activities around the eastern half of the state at least, including many high school sporting events that will be pending regarding their re-scheduling.

We celebrated Christmas with Tena’s family. Niece Emily, in the Navy in California, showed up to surprise her Mom in Canton. And we made it back home before the precip. began. We found out it was difficult to find a place for supper on Christmas day, until we stopped in the Summit C-store. That was like an oasis in the desert.

Last week our printers went to press early Saturday morning due to Christmas Eve being on a Monday and Christmas on Tuesday and they intended to do this again this week for the New Years edition. Printing on Saturday morning!

So between that early schedule and the subsequent blizzard conditions, our area readers had hopefully been able to finally receive their Dec. 26 papers by at least Friday. And with less pages, the January 2 editions should be a little easier to complete on time for our early deadline and the local-area delivery on Wednesday, January 2, as would be the normal case.

But those Tuesday holidays are something else and I have to look at a calendar from time to time. And possible New Years Eve snow was mentioned in the advance forecast, but hopefully not that much or especially not the high wind gusts.

You've probably already heard this a time or two, but if you haven't, it's still not to late to wish you a Happy New Year, especially if you are a procrastinator like me.
