Optometrist Melanie Weiss will share her powerful message of hope and recovery in the Ipswich School Theater on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019 at 7 p.m.
Her addiction to prescription pain medication began after several surgeries. In 2016 she was arrested and charged with burglary after taking medication from someone's home. She pleaded guilty.
Her optometry license was suspended until January 2019.
Weiss will speak to Ipswich and Edmunds Central high school students Thursday afternoon. The public is invited to attend the event at 7 p.m. in Ipswich. Admission is free.
