Thares families donate $100,000 towards Tiger Post fund drive

The children of Louis and Helen Thares have donated $100,000 towards the Ipswich Tiger Post fund drive in honor of their parents.

The fund drive officially began on January 16, 2019.

In honor of this donation, the committee has voted unanimously to name the building the “Louis and Helen Thares Youth Center.”

“We would like to thank Louis and Helen’s children for this special gift to their parents,” said Mike Hammrich, a committee member.

Louis and Helen have four children. Susan. who lives in Lorton, Va.. works for the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, DC. Cheryl lives in Wakonda and is a high school counselor and teacher. Jim and his wife Tracy live in Aberdeen. Jim is the CEO and founder of Primrose Retirement Communities. And Mick and his wife Jean who live in Lakeville, Minn. Mick owns and operates Dunn Bros. Coffee Shop there.

“The Tiger Post Fund Drive committee is very thankful to the Thares family for this donation, which will make it possible for the completion of the Louis and Helen Thares Youth Center this fall,” Hammrich said.
