NOT MUCH KNOWN OF PRAYER ROCK LEGEND

Many are interested in the Prayer Rock on the South side of the entrance walk to the Memorial Library. This five ton boulder has laid on a hill side on the farm of Lewis Larson, south of Mobridge as long as any one can remember.

Before the white men came, a deep path had been worn to this rock from the Cree Indian village on an adjacent hill and it is supposed that the Indians fell to their knees placing their hands in the prints on the rock.
