Yard and Garden Clinic Saturday

March 27, 2019

The calendar claims it is spring. Another sign — Saturday, March 30 is the annual Edmunds County Yard and Garden Clinic, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the 4-H Building in Ipswich.

This year the topic is “Hardy Perennials for Sun and Shade.”

They will describe a variety of perennials for both sunny and shady areas and how to care for them. Plants that attract and provide habitat for butterflies, bees and hummingbirds will be included.

Julie Schroer and Jodie Ramsay of Jean’s - the Right Plant Place in Perham, Minn. will speak. Their passion is perennials, as evidenced by the 1300+ varieties they carry each season. In the ‘non-gardening’ season, they both work at Northern State University, teaching biology.

Raymond Kub, Edmunds County Conservation Supervisor and Meshele Townsend, District Manager, will have the welcome and wrap up.

Refreshments will be served. Door Prizes will be available.

The event is sponsored by the Edmunds Co. Conservation and Natural Resource Conservation Service. Call the Ipswich District/NRCS office 426-6701 x3 for more information.
