Fiddlin' Around

April 17, 2019

There are two historical events to mention in this week's short column.

The first one is that record-breaking snowfall last week in our local area and the second achievement is pro golfer Tiger Woods winning the Masters for the umpteenth time after finally having rehabilitated himself from all sorts of medical problems. And even if you're not a fan of that particular sport, it's certainly an unbelievable accomplishment. If somebody made a feel-good sports movie about a fictional golfer or player who had achieved all that, you would say that it could only happen in the movies.

While on the subject of golf, due to all those snowbanks still laying around, you still may want to use a fluorescent ball when you're venturing out to our area courses. But the good news is that our midweek forecast indeed indicates some April showers (RAIN?) which could rather quickly eat into the remaining snow. But of course, that would create even more temporary water hazards if you're an aspiring golfer. So get your lawn mower tuned up, because there could soon be a lot of very green and very tall and very thick grass out there!

And we should actually mention another historical event this week – Happy Easter!
