Folks from Ipswich, Roscoe and Leola enjoyed refreshments and said goodbye to Father Russell Homic on Sunday, July 7, 2019.

Fr. Homic's last Masses were last weekend at Holy Cross, Holy Trinity and Our Lady of Perpetual Help. He said he has some packing to do and then has five days to travel to his new home in Michigan.

That new home will be in Dowagiac, Mich., where he will serve three parishes, similar to his mission in Ipswich. His new churches will be in the Kalamazoo area.

Fr. Homic, who came to South Dakota from Michigan, will now be close to his family.

He said he has loved the six years he served in Ipswich and will miss everyone.

Father Timothy Smith will be moving to Ipswich to serve the three parishes.
