Tiger Post youth have been working with the residents at the Ipswich nursing home.

A group of older Tiger Post students came to the nursing home and did some gardening with residents on June 12, 2019.

Gardening at Avantara Ipswich nursing home.

They planted flowers donated by locals and seeded some wildflowers into the shade portions of the raised beds. They also planted vegetables donated; tomatoes, peppers, peas, beans, and melons. They look forward to seeing the fruits of their hard work later this summer.

Afterwards, during snack time, a group of Tiger Post girls helped pass snacks to those who stayed inside.

A younger group of Tiger Post students came and did a craft with Avantara Ipswich residents. They made sparkler fireworks on June 24.

The young and old both cut, rolled and taped paper to a straw then dipped it into glue and glitter to add sparkle. The craft added Independence Day spirit to the holiday tree in the Avantara dining room.

Both groups enjoyed an ice cream snack afterwards.

Tiger Post plans to read with residents a couple days in July also.
