WATER FROLIC A BIG SUCCESS

Opening of Swimming Pool Drew Enthusiastic Crowds

With the completion of the bath house the swimming and wading pool is a reality which was well displayed Friday and Saturday at the water frolic staged here. Mr. Dudley Fossum of Aberdeen also Miss Sue Fossum and Miss Miller of Aberdeen came out and displayed their aquatic art and gave exhibitions of diving and rescuing a drowning person, but local participants carried off most prizes.

Two large spotlights placed on top of the bath house make a beautiful sight at night. The bath house is complete in every respect and signs are posted to show all bathers the rules and requirements. A shallow wading pool is located near the bath house for the kiddies while the larger swimming pool is equipped with two safety ropes and a high and low diving board mounted by concrete steps.

Season tickets have been much in demand and a bathing suit is a necessity as old clothes will not be allowed.

The directors of the Ipswich Swimming Pool Association are to be commended on their good work in selecting the location and plans for this enterprise. They have had to put up with a lot of grief in the past few months but now the pool is completed they may well feel satisfied for their good work, well done
