Fiddlin' Around

September 11, 2019

The weather for Edmunds Central's homecoming picnic lunch, parade and later that evening football game versus Deuel in Ipswich was ideal, perfect actually! Not even windy!

But the only bad thing was that the football team sustained its first football loss of the season. Deuel showed up with nine guys and their coaches in a bus rather early in the evening and I'm thinking to myself that couldn't really be their nine starters with no reserves. And that was obviously too good to be true, because the rest of the Cardinals showed up awhile later in their second bus. And that bus had to be rather crowded. (It was much better seeing two Ipswich band busses at the parade in Roscoe than two Deuel football busses.)

So the Tigers will try to get back into the winning column with a trip to Langford on Friday for a huge Lake Region Conference clash. So far the conference has been a little more balanced from top to bottom than in past years, so hopefully I/EC will be able to bounce back and put a victory into the win column.

We'll see what the weather is like for that game and then also for Saturday's Cross Country meet that will be hosted by Ipswich at Split Rock Country Club. It begins with the girls' varsity run starting at 10 a.m. Good luck to the area teams.
