New National Honor Society members inducted

The Ipsodak Chapter of the National Honor Society welcomed 18 new members during an induction ceremony in the Ipswich School Theatre on September 16, 2019. That brings the Ipswich membership to 24 including the new inductees and six IHS senior class members of the NHS.

The new inductees, alphabetically, are Hailey Bierman, Bridget Fuhrmann, Katelyn Geditz, Lindsey Grabowska, Halle Heinz, Matthew Hettich, Tarynn Kleffman, Ashton Loken, Paige Maher, Paige Mehlberg, Chesney Olivier, Bailey Pitz, Kaitlyn Preszler, Angeline Rye, Austin Russell, Eric Severson, Tyler Tran and Orchid Wilcox. They join NHS members McKenzie Evans, Tessa Kilber, Jordan Richardt, Jayna Sanborn, Lexie Stafford and Avery Sylte.

Tessa Kilber, the current NHS president welcomed the attendees and gave a short history of the National Honor Society. Four of the carry-over members in a candle-lighting ceremony gave a talk on one of the four attributes to be a member of the NHS. Jordan Richardt spoke about Scholarship, Jayna Sanborn on Service, Avery Sylte on Leadership and Lexi Stafford on Character. The new inductees each were presented a certificate and each signed the NHS Registry.

Superintendent Trent Osborne gave the speech explaining the NHS values and encouraged the NHS membership to nurture them. Kaye Wickard, who is one of the NHS advisors along with Carol Lacher, then gave her reflections about the NHS and its membership.
