The hosts enjoyed a 116-81 hitting lead with a 48-29 kills edge.

In serving, Ipswich landed 10 aces among its 73 accurate serves. Heinz was 22-22 with seven of those aces. Chesney Olivier added a 12-13, two-ace evening. Faulkton countered with 82 serves that featured five aces.

Ipswich was led in digging by Olivier with 23 and Heinz with 19. Paige Mehlberg added two solo blocks and one assisted and Halie Feldman a solo.

Ipswich was supposed to attend a tourney in Gettysburg on Saturday, but it was cancelled. Too many teams from the west weren’t able to make it due to the weather, according to coach Trent Osborne. “We added a game with Faith in Mobridge on the 29th to make up for it,” he said.

Meanwhile the Lady Tigers indeed defeated their Lady Tiger counterparts — Mobridge-Pollock on Monday in Mobridge. The IHS team will host Hitchcock-Tulare on Thursday, Oct. 17.
