The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) had representatives at the event.

Edmunds County Emergency Manager Leland Treichel said local emergency agencies particpated including the Ipswich Fire Dept. and Ambulance, Hosmer Fire Dept. and Roscoe Fire Dept.

"The 82nd CST conducts these exercises with the intent to provide training opportunities for local law enforcement and emergency response units," said Marcy Kohl of Glacial Lakes Energy, LLC.

The training was conducted to demonstrate CST capabilities and develop interagency cooperation with local first response agencies. The exercise gave participants the opportunity to see and share with others equipment that most South Dakotans don't know exists, Treichel said.
