KLAN BURNS CROSS IN IPSWICH

A large cross, placed near the old baseball grounds, was burned at Ipswich Saturday night. The fiery cross was set off at the time the Royal Johnson audience were coming out of the hall and created considerable commotion. The cross was about 20 feet high and 14 feet across. Just what the burning of the cross indicates is not known to ones outside the organization and various explanations are offered.

The Klan is getting strong in this state and are also forming a strong organization in Aberdeen, which will eventually take in members from this section. The Klan organizations have done some work in some states to uphold the laws.
