The Library Remembers When...

November 27, 2019

From the Ipswich Tribune August 20, 1924 edition

About six weeks ago the City Council ordered all out-door closets removed from the business blocks of city considering the same to be public nuisances and a menace to health. A number of people complied with the order, but there is still several to make the changes and connect up with the sewer. We believe it is up to the Council and Mayor to make good on their threat to remove these places and do so at once. The parties owning same can well afford the cost of connection and work and we are looking to the city officials to make Ipswich a decent place in which to live. Whata you goin’ do?
