Medical benefit planned on Saturday in Roscoe

January 22, 2020

A benefit is planned on Saturday, Jan. 25 in the Roscoe American Legion Hall for Adam Anderson and his family.

A meal will be served from 5:30 to 7 p.m. St. Thomas Catholic Church is planning a Mass in the Legion Hall at 4:30 p.m. that day.

Last spring Anderson underwent a series of surgical procedures at the Mayo Clinic to remove a tumor pressing against his upper spinal cord. A series of complications continued throughout the summer.

A cranial shunt successfully alleviated the swelling. The need for more healing remains, with further testing expected throughout 2020.

The medical benefit will assist the Anderson family with travel and living expenses related to the illness over the past year and the costs associated with upcoming appointments at the Mayo Clinic.

The event is hosted by the St. Thomas Altar Society, the Catholic Daughters and the Knights of Columbus. They are also selling raffle tickets. The drawing will be at 6:30 p.m. at the benefit in Roscoe.
