Fiddlin' Around

March 25, 2020

With many aspects of our daily routine being changed drastically in some cases by the coronavirus it would not be inaccurate to say that this pandemic would even affect this column. You probably just about all know that I usually write about two things, the sports events around the area and the nation and also the weather, especially if it is less than desirable from week to week.

But the sports are at a standstill with the spring sports track and field, golf and baseball on hold either having been completely canceled in some instances or postponed for the time being. And the March weather which wasn't all that optimal last year at this time is actually cooperating really nicely, but as usual that could change overnight.

I could even mow our entire lawn except for one tiny drift that is slowly melting along our property line. The sun will have to do its work, though, because it's as hard as a rock and very little moisture in it. That's because the last few wintry systems have by-passed us — either to the north up into North Dakota or to the south, down towards the southern third of the state and into Nebraska. So we can't complain about that, even though it gets real windy from time to time.
