Heinz on Class B All-State second team

Ipswich girls' basketball junior standout Halle Heinz has been selected to the South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association's Class B All-State Second Team.

And her numbers speak for themselves! She averaged 23.3 points per game this season, 5.5 rebounds and four steals and three assists. Her career numbers aren't that shabby either - enviable to say the least.

Just ask her coach Brian Hogie. "This is a much deserved honor for Halle. She had worked so hard this season and really played well for us each and every game. She averaged 23.3 ppg which is second in school history to only Jen DeGroot and scored 490 points, which is also second in school history to Jen. She averaged 5.5 Rebounds, 3 Assists and 4 Steals a game, which also led our team this year. Her 81 steals in a season broke our school record, which was already held by her and was 79."

Other members of the second team were Morgan Edelman of Menno, Zoey Wohlleber of Waubay-Summit, Kennedy Leiferman of Kimball-White Lake, Lavin Bendt of Kadoka Area and Kaycee Groves of Faith.

First-team selections were Avery Broughton of Corsica-Stickney, Hilary Albrecht of Howard, Caelyn Valandra-Prue of White River, Ady Dwight of Langford Area, Alayna Benike of Castlewood and Cameryn Logan of Ethan.

Third-teamers are Julia Weber of Bridgewater-Emery, Morgan Huber of Hanson, Rachel Fiedler of Herreid-Selby Area, Brooke Niederbaumer of Faulkton Area, Nora O'Malley of Irene-Wakonda, Kennadi Buchholz of De Smet and Malloy O'Malley of Irene-Wakonda.

Ady Dwight, Brooke Niederbaumer and Halle Heinz all represent the Lake Region Conference, as well.
