Judge Lightner

Receives Joyful News

Without doubt the happiest man in the city of Roscoe was Judge Lightner Tuesday morning when he received a telegram from St. Louis informing him that his daughter, Mrs. Dr. Post had presented the household with a fine baby boy, making the Judge a grandfather.

After reading the telegram carefully several times, a tear of joy trickled down the Judge’s face and then a smile came over it that couldn’t be erased, then remembering that responsibilities of a grandfather the Judge grabbed the telegram in his right hand and proceeded to the nearest cigar store gathering his many friends on the way. It is needless to say that the Judge acted out the part of a grandfather to the letter. Cigars flew through the air like feather out of a busted pillow case and remained that way throughout the day. Mother and son are reported to be getting along nicely and Mrs. Post’s many friends here in the city and surrounding community extend congratulations.
