Fiddlin' Around

This has certainly been a surreal spring, but there are some bright spots from time to time. And literally hats off to the high school seniors around the area and state. But here too there have been unique experiences to remember including in Ipswich a once postponed prom grand march postponed to last Friday evening due to weather.

Then Edmunds Central had its unique soggy drive-through honoring its Class of 2020 Saturday morning. Followed by Ipswich's senior parade around the streets of Ipswich on Sunday afternoon, postponed from Saturday’s rainy forecast.

I have attended some various parades that weren't half as impressive as that one.

At the Edmunds Central event they also thanked the teachers for their service. Retiring Ipswich teachers were the parade marshals. Thanks to all the teachers and congratulations to the retiring teachers.

And the nice thing about all that is that next year's seniors might just be a little jealous especially if there's indeed a return to normal, whatever the new normal might be. But the Classes of 2020 can have their graduation reception cake and eat it too as the old expression goes. Because both Ipswich and Edmunds Central are planning indoor graduation ceremonies later in July, although not on the same day as they often are. So this too can't be all bad either!
