The Ipswich Awards Night was done by video due to the coronavirus pandemic. You may still watch it on the school’s Facebook page.

This covers the athletic portion of the event, highlighted by Tess Kilber being named the winner of girls’ Outstanding Senior Athlete Award. The boys’ Senior Athlete Award went to Carter Heinz.

What more can you stay about their versatility? Both Heinz and Kilber have experienced success at the state level culminating with Kilber’s 2019 8th place Cross Country run at the State B. The number eight was also significant for Heinz in State B Wrestling action, with three straight trips there culminating in a pair of eighth place finishes in both his junior and senior seasons.

Needless to say they had no problem meeting the criteria for the school’s athletic Hall of Fame joined by classmates Mckenzie Bowers, Lily Gaston, Maxwell Geditz, Ethan Gilbert, Jordan Richardt, and Will Kadlec.

Richardt and Kilber each also won this year’s Senior Scholar Athlete Award.

There were various sports awards as well, starting with football coached by Brian Hogie. They were highlighted by Ethan Gilbert’s offensive MVP and Josh McQuarie’s defensive MVP.

In CC, Todd Thorson announced Maxwell Geditz and Taylor Thorson as the boys’ co-MVPs and who else but Kilber, the girls’ MVP.

In volleball, Coach Trent Osborne named Avery Sylte as the MVP, stating that she could play all six positions on the court.

In girls BB, Halle Heinz was named the MVP, announced by Coach Hogie. The boys’ MVP, according to coach Tyler Severson, was Will Kadlec.

That left cheerleading. Senior Emily Thorson was named the Sanborn Strong Spirit award winner, co-coach Heidi Sylte said.
