Fiddlin' Around

August 26, 2020

Everything is so seasonally related, especially when we are transitioning to autumn leaves instead of cotton balls from that very same tree. But with climate change apparently in progress, it's beginning to seem like we haven't been experiencing those traditional lengthy spring and fall seasons that we used to enjoy. The weather certainly seems more unpredictable, though, so things could always change, especially on a short-term basis.

So merchants are attempting to do their seasonal end of the summer sales campaigns as usual, especially with the holiday season right around the corner. By that, I mean the upcoming Labor Day week end and then later in the fall starting with Halloween. You can already see Halloween candy in Ipswich. And sports are now getting into full swing and congrats to the Tigers for upending Potter County in football for the second straight year last Friday.

And there are still some coronavirus related Aberdeen area annual events that have been modified this year. I think the Celtic Faire has been postponed until 2021 for instance, but the state's annual film festival will still be held virtually.
