Fiddlin' Around

October 7, 2020

I read somewhere that the National Weather Service doesn't issue any more frost advisories or warnings during this growing season after a major frost or two is in the books. And I wouldn't be too surprised if that would now be true. But you can still read the daily and nightly forecasts and determine for yourself if the f-word (frost) is mentioned. And if you don't really care one way or the other, that's OK too.

I've been checking one late blooming cucumber plant that has one cucumber which could possibly continue to grow into a slicing size instead of just a tiny little pickle. That would be OK, though, if we had about 99 more picklers, but is not the case. And the tomatoes are doing fairly well for how dry it's been. They have been covered two or three recent nights. But I've noticed that the last few green ones have been taking forever to ripen.

The weather sounds fairly decent for this time of the year, though, after having gotten rather chilly.
