Local churches celebrate Easter

A group of youth gather at the First Baptist Church in Ipswich on Wednesdays for supper. Recently they designed and painted this Easter-season mural.

The First Baptist Church of Ipswich will host the annual Community Good Friday Worship Service on April 2, 2021. The service will begin at 7 p.m.

Pastor Dan Kuno will deliver the sermon "It is Finished."

Everyone is welcome.

First Baptist Church

The Easter worship service will begin at 10 a.m.

Holy Cross Catholic Church

Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord's Supper will begin at 7 p.m. in Holy Cross Church in Ipswich. The Good Friday service will be held at St. Thomas Church in Roscoe at noon, 3 p.m. in Ipswich and at 6 p.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Leola. On Saturday, April 3 the Holy Saturday Easter Vigil Mass will be held at 8:30 p.m. in Ipswich. The Easter Sunday Mass of the Lord's Resurrection will be celebrated on Sunday at 8 a.m. in St. Thomas in Roscoe, at 10 a.m. in Holy Cross in Ipswich and in Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Leola at noon.

Richland Wesleyan Church

The Maundy Thursday Communion Service will begin at 7 p.m. on April 1. The Easter Sunday morning worship, a celebration of hope, will begin at 10:45 a.m.

United Church of Christ

The Maundy Thursday service will begin at 6:30 p.m. on April 1. The Easter Sunday Sunrise Service will begin at 7:08 a.m. followed by breakfast served by the Youth Group. The worship service begins at 10 a.m.

Zion Evangelical

Lutheran Church

The Easter Sunday service will begin at 9 a.m. The church meets in Gramm Funeral Home.
