Golfers play in Faulkton, Eureka - conference meet tomorrow

 


Ipswich competed at a high school golf event hosted by Faulkton last Thursday.

The Tiger boys were led by Luke Peterson in third with his 75, only bettered by Wyatt Larson of McIntosh with a 73 and Bennett Cassens of the host school with his 74. Ipswich was second as a team.

Ipswich's next scorer just missing the Top 10 was Matthew Jaenisch with a 88 in 11th followed by Jace Konsor 17th with 93 and Chet Peterson 20th at 95 among 41 boys.

Meanwhile, the girls' outcome was led by Miller's Jayce Pugh with her 85, followed by Faulkton's Taylor Machtemes at 88. Ipswich was paced by Halie Feldman seventh with a 97, Ashton Loken ninth at 97 and Tarynn Kleffman also in the Top 10 in tenth at an even 100. There were a total of 28 girls in this event. (Ipswich placed fourth as a girls’ team.)

Ipswich also attended a Bowdle meet hosted at Eureka on May 1. Luke Peterson won the boys’ division with his 71 and Matthew Jaenisch was fifth at 85. Chet Peterson was also in the Top 10 at eighth with a 88. Jace Konsor scored a 100 for 19th.


Ipswich had two girls there — Halie Feldman in eighth with her 105 and Tarynn Kleffman added a 117 for 15th. (Potter County’s Olivia Mikkelsen won the event with a 93.)

The Ipswich golfers will play in the LRC meet on May 6 at Rolling Hills in Aberdeen. They will also attend one in Eureka on May 8.
