Roscoe and Ipswich City Councils have city ordinance prohibiting the discharge of fireworks.

Due to the dry conditions in the county this year, Ipswich will specifically ban aerial fireworks within the city limits. Anyone lighting aerial fireworks will be subject to a fine.

The Edmunds County Commission approved an ordinance prohibiting any type of open burning within the county without prior approval. The ordinance was approved in July of 2004.
