Cross Country team runs in Pierre

August 31, 2022

Ipswich began its cross country campaign during a soggy day in Pierre last Friday. There all the classes were eligible for the results, so there was some quality competition at this event (the Pierre Invitational) to say the least.

It was won by Dannika Kaup of Potter County in the girls event at 15:58.69 followed by Katelynn Beshara of Rapid City Central in 16:17.62. Ipswich's Madisyn Gellhaus placed fourth among the 31 entrants with her 16:27.38 effort and Gracyn Kadlec was 11th at 16:57.72.

Meanwhile Jared Lutmer of Pierre finished first among the 37 boys with his 13:02.18 and Trevor Thomsen of Rapid City Central was next at 13:05.06.

Ipswich was led by Turner Thorsen in 20th at 14:50.50 and Xavier Kadlec placed 23rd in 14:58.62. Dylan Wald added a 17:08.88 clocking for 36th.

Ipswich was next scheduled for a event in Redfield on September 1.
