Ipswich lost a girls/boys non-conference high school varsity basketball twin-bill at Potter County last Thursday. The Tiger girls would face a 44-34 shortfall and the IHS boys trailed 67-59 at the final buzzer.

In the girls' encounter the hosts would jump ahead 10-4 after a quarter and then they would only lead 16-14 at halftime. The Battlers' margin was even slimmer, 26-25, with a quarter to play. But they got the job done defensively down the stretch, limiting the Tigers to nine points.
