Johnsons chosen as 2018 Parade Marshals

The 2018 Trail Days parade begins at 10:30 a.m. The theme is “Ipswich Rocks!”.

Each year the committee picks a Parade Marshal. This year they have chosen Rich and Linda Johnson.

The Johnsons moved to Ipswich in 1985. They both retired in the last few years, both with 30 years or more of service. Linda retired in 2015 after 30 years with North Central Farmers Elevator. Rich retired from FEM Electric in 2013. He had worked for electric cooperatives for 39 years, primarily with FEM, as well as CamWal.

Their daughter Richal Wambach lives in Groton. She and her husband Jason have three children, ages 15, 12 and 9. The Johnsons’ son Clint passed away 20 years ago.

Rich enjoys fishing and Linda reads and does jigsaws. They also can be seen walking through Ipswich. But this Saturday morning you can see them sitting in a vehicle at the beginning of the Trail Days parade.

PARADE ROUTE:

The parade will set up on 7th St. at Kadlec Sales. The entries will travel by the Ipswich Care and Rehabilitation center on Bloemendaal Ave. then by the Arch until First Street then up Main Street, ending on 4th Street.
