District 1 Commission candidates

 

October 31, 2018



Voters in Voting Precinct #1 will elect a Council Commissioner in District 1 for a four-year term.

Precinct #1 is made up of voters in Clear Lake, Cortlandt, Kent, Pembrook, Richland and Union Townships.

The candidates were sent questionnaires from the Ipswich Tribune/Roscoe-Hosmer Independent. Their responses follow:

Robert Olson

Family and Background:

Married to wife Pat and had three children and many grandchildren. Served in US Air Force in Vietnam, police officer in California 14 years, farmed and ranched 17 years. Private Investigation business 40 years, commercial hunting business 14 years. Hold a BA degree in police administration and Masters Degree in public administration.

Why are you running for Edmunds County Commission:

I am seeking re-election for county commissioner to continue representing and serving the people in District 1.

What experience would you bring to this position:

I have served for the past eight years on the Edmunds County Commission with five years as chairman of the Board. I have served on the Ipswich School Board for 8 years and as chairman of that Board.

What would your goals be as a Commissioner:

Continue to maintain fiscal responsibility while maintaining and improving roads, public safety, equipment, infrastructure and other county related services.
