OLD COURTHOUSE CONSTRUCTED IN 1889

The former Edmunds county courthouse which was built in 1889 and 1890 was considered at that time one of the best buildings that could be built. Constructed of stone and brick at a cost to the county of $11,000.00 it was considered adequate for many years to come. Public records had accumulated by 1935 to such an extent that there was not room in the building for some of the county officers.
