Ipswich Area Foundation awards grants

The Ipswich Area Foundation (IAF) is a community foundation formed to attract and distribute gifts of capital for community betterment, dedicated to the future of Ipswich and the surrounding community. The IAF supports education, health, cultural and environmental enhancements to the community through scholarships and grants.

The IAF awards three $1000 scholarships annually and acts on grant applications to non-profit organizations in January and July of each year.

The Ipswich Area Foundation recently awarded five grants:

• A $1000 grant to the Ipswich Baseball and Softball for fence and field upkeep, pitching machine, uniforms, helmets, and bats.

• A $10,000 grant was awarded to the Ipswich Tiger Post for their new building.

• A $250 grant was awarded to the Edmunds County 4-H Shotgun Shooting Sports summer program for clay pigeons, shells, ear and eye protection.

• A $250 grant was awarded to the Edmunds County 4-H BB Gun Shooting Sports for targets, ear protection, BBs and guns.

• A $250 grant was awarded to the Edmunds County 4-H Archery for targets, arrows, a back stop and t-shirts.

Grant applications can be obtained from J. David Williams or any other of the current board of directors: Harlan Heitz, Sylvia Davis, Vaughn Beck, Dave Penfield, and Deb Gillick. Any of the board members can also be contacted about a gift or donation to the fund. Gifts and donations to the IAF are invested in the South Dakota Community Foundation and are tax deductible.
