Ipswich/Edmunds Central dropped a home field Lake Region Conference high school football decision by a 42-8 margin last Friday in Ipswich.

The Tigers were finally able to get on the score board in the fourth quarter, thanks to a final quarter 18-yard touchdown pass from Ethan Gilbert to Ty Kadlec. And they tacked on a two-point conversion thanks to Gilbert's keeper run.

The visitors had led 14-0 after a quarter and 28-0 after intermission. They increased their margin to 35-0, entering the final quarter and did add yet another touchdown in that stanza. All six of the Warner scores were capped by the kicking foot of Spencer Ketterling, indeed a perfect 6-6 in his PAT kicking tries. Ty Cramer led the Monarchs' attack with three running touchdowns, the longest of which was 81 yards, plus a pass reception TD of 26 yards from Ben Fischbach, who had earlier provided the visitors their opening touchdown with a six-yard run.

The hosts sustained some costly turnovers (including five lost fumbles) that could have made a difference in field position and momentum, especially early on, though Warner was not quite error-free either. But the Monarchs ended up with 370 rushing yards, indeed led by Cramer with 263 and Fischbach with 49. The visitors only netted 48 passing yards, though, on Fischbach's 3-8-1 evening. Ketterling caught two passes for 41 yards to lead the Monarchs.

Ipswich/Edmunds Central wasn't really able to sustain much of a rushing attack throughout the evening, resulting in a net 48 yards on the ground. Luke Peterson had four carries for 17 yards, followed by Carson Gohl, also in double-figures with 15 yards and Ethan Gilbert with 12.

In passing, Gilbert finished 9-21-1 for 161 yards and Ty Kadlec was 1-1 for 30 more aerial yards. Kadlec caught five passes for 146 yards, followed by McQuarie with two catches for 33 yards.

Defensively the Tigers recorded 59 tackles, led by Kadlec with 9 and Carter Heinz, eight.

Ipswich/Edmunds Central dropped to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in league play and will host North Border coming off an upset win over Faulkton Area. It will be the Ipswich homecoming game, so the Tigers would certainly enjoy a win to cap the festivities.
