Two businesses joined the Red Bobbin Sewing Salon on Main Street Ipswich.

Grandma's Ceramic Shop opened in the former Senior Center. The shop is opened by partners Dawn Graham and her daughter Bailey.

Dawn said the business is named for her grandma, who had a ceramic shop at Richmond Lake. She said she has many good memories of time spent there working on ceramic projects.

The Grahams had the business in their garage east of Ipswich. Dawn thanks the Ipswich Development Corporation for their help with the new building and her husband and son, Bubba Graham and Hunter, for their help in moving all the equipment to the new location.

The newly-moved shelves are full of a variety of ceramic items to paint. Dawn said everyone, ages two and older, can do it. And people appreciate a handmade gift.

The shop has kitchen facilities, so parties could be a possibility.

The shop hours are Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays from 4 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dawn said the hours will change in the summer, since she is a teacher. To make an appointment call 605-380-7184.

Bailey has designed a Facebook page. She is a NSU senior, who takes classes online, and also has a full-time job.

Dawn said she hopes they can bring a few more cars to Main Street.

Katie Steen is also hoping for a few more cars on Main Street. She has a new photography studio in the former Red Bobbin Sewing Salon building.

Katie said she started taking pictures in college. Photography was part of the graphic design studies. She has now been taking photos professionally outdoors. Real Dakota Photography studio she now has the ability to take photos indoors.

Saturday, Mar. 14, she had an Easter special, which included live rabbits.
