Members of the Ipswich Marching Band in the Gala Day parade in October. There was no Gypsy Day parade this year due to COVID, but the IHS band also marched at two festivals.

JULY

The Mina Lake Freedom Festival was held on July 3. The event featured guest speaker Vice Admiral Lyle Bien, a South Dakotan, and sky divers and airplane flyovers.

The Independence Day weekend was a stormy one for local residents. Ipswich weather observer had wind gusts of 70 to 80 mph on July 4.

Ipswich Sanford Health Clinic thanked locals for their support with drive-thru treats.

The South Dakota Department of Health distributed $500,000 grant funds for mosquito control and West Niles Virus prevention. Edmunds County received $3,000 and Ipswich received $2,500.
