IHS Artists win honors, attend workshop

Ipswich High School art students participated in the All Dakota High School Art Exhibition.

Schools from North and South Dakota submitted artwork for exhibit. There were more than 70 pieces.

The show could be viewed in the Dacotah Prairie Museum in Aberdeen through April 24.

IHS artists Paige Maher won for best sculpture and Quincy Olivier won for best painting.

High school art students from seven schools were able to participate in professional artist-led workshops. Twelve schools from North and South Dakota took part in the gallery show.

Ipswich students who attended the workshop were Allyssa Koch, Lillian Judkins, Kamryn Boettcher, Emily DeRaad, Kirsten Anderson and Paige Maher.

Schools in the exhibit included Ipswich, Aberdeen Central, Fargo Davies, Fargo North, Fargo South, Groton., Mitchell, Mt. Vernon, Roncalli, Sisseton and Holgate Middle School.
