The 54th Annual Lake Area Technical College Commencement ceremony was held Friday, May 14, 2021 with 842 graduates receiving degrees. 

The commencement address was given by South Dakota Secretary of Labor and Regulation, Marcia Hultman and congratulations were shared by South Dakota State Board of Technical Education Executive Director, Nick Wendell. 

Local students who were presented their diplomas by Lake Area Technical College President, Michael Cartney included Ipswich grads, Nathanial J Preszler, Diesel Technology; Dillon H Weig, Heavy Equipment Operator; Allison N Severson, Occupational Therapy Assistant; Trevin L Maurer, Welding Technology; Mina grad Ashlee A Thorson, Registered Nursing; Hosmer grad Mason D Preszler, Agriculture; and Roscoe grads Elliot D Beyers, Agriculture; Grant R Malsam, Agriculture; Braden D Weisser, Agriculture; Noah M Wiedrich, Law Enforcement; and Daniel J Baer, Robotics.
