The Ipswich Tigers Special Olympics Team competed in Milbank at the NE Area Track and Field Event on Friday, April 29.

It was a rainy, cool day, but all of the athletes did very well and had a lot of fun. The team was able to purchase new jackets this year thanks to the Knights of Columbus's generous donation. The athletes look forward to their new garments at each meet and are grateful for the support.

Their results were:

• Cash Henderson - 7th grade: 50m dash, 2nd place; softball throw, 2nd place and standing long jump, 2nd place

• Johnathan Kamps - adult education program: 50m dash, 1st place; softball throw, 2nd place and standing long jump, 1st place

• Max Simon - 7th grade: 50m dash, 7th place; softball throw, 1st place and standing long jump, 1st place.

Thank you to all the students, parents, teachers and community members who support us in each event," said their teacher and coach Dawn Graham.
