Edmunds County 4-Hers projects and livestock on display

The 2022 Edmunds County Achievement Days were held August 3-5 in Ipswich.

The event started on Wednesday morning with the Dog Show with five participants. They were judged on obedience, agility, rally, and showmanship. Top showman awards will be presented at Recognition Night. The Dog Show was followed by the Cat Show which had six members showing their cats. The day ended with the Horse Show and Fun Day at the Trail Days Complex. There were 10 members participating in a variety of events.

Thursday morning began with the poultry show at 8:30 a.m. followed by the rabbit show. Static judging started off the afternoon with over 240 exhibits being judged. This included the exhibits by 4-H members, open class, and Cloverbuds.

The evening program started with the Pre 4-H Pet Show and the crowning of the 2022 Achievement Day Cloverbud Royalty. The lucky winners were Cloverbud Prince Isaiah Kadlec and Princess Brynlee Rasmussen.

Friday morning started off in the livestock barn with members getting their animals ready for the livestock judging. There were over 150 livestock entered. The livestock show began at 8:30 a.m. with entries in swine, sheep, goat, dairy, and beef. Members had the opportunity to participate in the Showmanship Challenge Activity.

The evening progressed with the annual 4-H Barbeque which had over 300 people enjoying the Chicken meal. The BBQ was followed by the Pre 4-H Livestock Show and the announcing of the Secret Alumni, Kris Ulmer Scherr. The Family Herdmanship Award went to the Jordan and Amanda Holt family. This was followed by the Premium Sale which had 28 entries.
