The average high for Ipswich is currently 82°. There were several years that August has exceeded this average by at least 5°. The following are these months:

1976: Warm month with average high way above at 89° – Four 100° days in the middle of the month in a row followed by four days in the 90s and finishing with 103° on the 26th – 106 was the hottest of the 100° days.

1982: Warm month with the average high of 87° – Eleven days in the 90s and the rest in the 70s & 80s – One 100° day (105) on the 2nd – Oddity of this month though was the lowest temp. for this month of 35°on the 27th.

1983: Average high of 91° makes it the warmest month – Every day’s high in the 80s & 90s with one 100° on the 7th.

1984: Another warm month with the average high at 88 degrees – The only 70s as a high temp. came on the last two days of the month.

2021: Warm month – Average high 87° – A hot week in the middle of the month with an average high temp. of

94°.

Note: There were 6 months that the average high was 86°

and several at 85°.
