The current average high for August is 82°, current low is 57.

Last week some of the warmest months of August in the last 47 years were mentioned.  This week I will deal with some of the coolest months.

1992 — Way below normal in average high at 75° with only one 90° day – 13 nights in the 40s and 2 nights in the high 30s making it the coolest August.

1994 — Cool month with average high at 77° – No days in the 90s and 7 days in the 60s as a high temp. – 10 nights in the 40s.

2004 — Cool month – Average high temp. of 76° – One

day time high in the 50s and 5 in the 60s – 11 nights in the 40s.

2014 — Cool month – Average high 77° – No high temp. in the 90s and the highest 80’s temp. was 84 on the 3rd – Low average temp. was right on normal though at 58° and only one night in the 40s.

2017 — Cool month – Average high at 77° – No high temp. was above 85° – Average low temp. was again right on normal with only one night in the 40s.

2019 — Cool month with average high at 76° – Only 5 day time temps. in the 80s, all other days were in the 60s & 70s – Night time readings were again right on normal with only one night in the 40s. Note: 8 months had a reading in the 30s with the lowest temp. of 35° on April 27, 1982.

The most recent 30s reading was Apr. 24th, 2007.
