The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Services series, a six-minute video, “Our Amazing Grasslands’ features Bruce and Joyce Haerter family of Hosmer this month.

The Haerter family manages their grasslands to promote healthy soil and receive the benefits of soil health practices, especially during times of drought.

The South Dakota Grassland Coalition (SDGC) partners with other organizations to enhance the Grassland Planner with a release of a short video story each month during 2022 promoting healthy soils, grasslands, and ecosystems.

"Grasslands are not just good from the ranching side, but they are good for outdoor interest, diversity and economy, and all the rest it’s going with where we live," said Bruce Haerter

The 2022 Grassland Stewardship Communications Project Partners include SDGC, Audubon Dakota, Ducks Unlimited, Partners for Fish and Wildlife, South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks, The Nature Conservancy, Pheasants Forever, South Dakota Soil Health Coalition, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), and South Dakota State University.
