4-H Recognition event held

The Edmunds County 4-H Recognition Event was held Tuesday, November 15 at the 4-H Building in Ipswich.

The evening started with a potluck supper followed by the awards ceremony. The 4-H members, leaders, and friends of 4-H were honored for their accomplishments and contributions. Bonnie Nehlich, 4-H Youth Program Advisor, welcomed all to the event.

4-H graduation awards were presented to Bryce Beitelspacher, Ty Kadlec, Caleb Johnson, and Austin Rawden.

The Meritorious Award was presented to Camby's Pass for their advertising of the Edmunds County 4-H Program.

The Alumni Award was presented to Cody Forkel for his help as a Ring Steward during the Livestock Show.

Leaders receiving special recognition for years of service as club leaders and a member of the Leaders Association were Tara Beitelspacher - 10 years, and Carole Curtis - 20 years. They each received a certificate and a clover pin.

Other leaders recognized for their years of service were Mark Beitelspacher – 9 years, Barb Kaiser – 7 years, Lacey Galbraith – 4 years, Jean Hutson – 8 years, Bryan and Jessica Scherr – 6 years, Janet Fuhrmann – 14 years, Holly Johnson – 10 years, Emily Kadlec – 20 years, Becky Nierman – 15 years, Scott Kilber – 13 years, Angie Kulesa – 11 years, Amber Beyers – 8 years, Kim Kanable – 8 years, Becki Bass – 2 years, Courtney Davis – 6 years, Jill Wittmeier – 1 year, Jordan and Amanda Holt – 4 years, John and Steph Jung – 12 years, Amanda Rawden – 8 years, and Jeremy Rawden – 4 years.

The Overall Horse Award went to Quincy Olivier and the Overall Dog Showman was Emerald Wittmeier. The first year dog award winner was Raymond Fitz-Patrick.

Club honors for the Ken's Food Fair Citizenship Awards went to the Wily Wizards 4-H Club.

The Visual Arts Dabbler Awards went to Junior Emerald Wittmeier and Senior Hannah Beyers.

The Bev Wright Fashion Revue Award went to Kaidence Bulgin.

Youth in Action Awards were presented to Grayson Beyers, Lincoln Beyers, and Hannah Beyers for participating in Special Foods Contest at the State Fair. Kaidence Bulgin also received awards for participating in Fashion Revue and Public Presentations at the State Fair.

The County Rate of Gain was won by Sydney Holmes for sheep, Jacob Jung for swine, and Caleb Johnson for beef.

Project medals were presented to Kaidence Bulgin in Clothing and Home Environment.

Awards for the best 4-H Record Books went to Beginner-first Hunter Bonen, second Tara Fischer, Junior-first Jillian Fischer and Gage Kaiser, second Dora Bonen and Maggie Holt, and Senior-first Grant Fischer, second Bryce Beitelspacher. Any member doing record books also received a cash prize of $20.00 for a purple ribbon book and $15 for a blue ribbon book.

State Fair cash awards were presented to Bryce Beitelspacher for receiving fifth place in the Market Beef Show and Maggie Holt for placing third in Junior Beef Showmanship.

Best of Show Awards were given to Nate Bass – Senior Horticulture and Photography; Sam Bass – Junior Horticulture; Grayson Beyers – Junior Foods and Nutrition and Visual Arts; Brody Davis – Junior Wood Science; Alexis Fischer – Junior Home Environment; Grant Fischer – Senior Automotive and Hobbies and Collections; Isabella Galbraith – Beginner Horticulture and Photography; Gabriela Grabowska-Hoyle – Senior Foods and Nutrition; Sydney Holmes – Junior Hobbies and Collections; Ben Hoyle – Beginner Home Environment; Gracyn Kadlec – Junior Clothing and Textiles and Visual Arts; Olivia Kadlec – Beginner Foods and Nutrition; Mackenzie Kaiser – Senior Home Environment; Sophie Kroll – Junior Writing and Public Speaking; Quincy Olivier – Senior Photography and Visual Arts; Riley Pietz – Beginner Electricity; Jacob Volk – Beginner Hobbies and Collections; and Jill Wittmeier – Open Class.

The many supporters of the 4-H program were recognized with a Friend of 4-H Certificate.
