IHS student qualifies for State B Oral Interp Festival

The South Dakota State Oral Interpretation Festival will be held December 2 and 3, 2022 in the Mitchell High School.

The competition begins Friday morning. Students will compete in three divisions — B, A and AA.

Sam Grabowska, Ipswich student, will compete in the Class B Humorous Reading division. Fifteen students compete Friday afternoon in the Humorous Reading session.

Ember Geist, Edmunds Central senior, will compete in the Class B Storytelling division. The 14 Storytelling session students compete Friday evening.

Individual awards will be presented at the conclusion of each session. Team excellence awards will be presented at the conclusion of the final session Saturday afternoon.

Other Oral Interp division sessions include Non-Original Oratory, Serious Reading, Reader’s Theatre, Duet Interpretation and Poetry Reading.
