Three IHS students compete at State B

Three Ipswich students will participate in the State B Oral Interpretation Festival in Harrisburg Dec. 1 and 2, 2023.

This year, the IHS oral interpretation team competed at the District 10B Contest in Mobridge November 6. They had six entries: Sam Grabowska for serious interpretation and for humorous interpretation, Adam Kanable for poetry interpretation, Shaylee Coisman for storytelling and for duet interpretation with Savannah Coisman, and Ethan Kukrall for non-original oratory. Sam earned medals for serious and humorous interpretation, Shaylee earned medals for storytelling and duet interpretation with Savannah, and Adam was first alternate.

At the Region 5B Contest in Pierre on November 13, IHS had four entries, with Sam, Shaylee, and Savannah earning medals for all entries. These three will be competing at the State Oral Interpretation Festival.

Sam will be competing in both the serious interpretation and humorous interpretation events. Shaylee will be performing in the storytelling event. Shaylee and Savannah will perform in the duet interpretation event.

Individual awards will be presented at the conclusion of each session. Team excellence awards will be presented at the conclusion of the final session.

EDMUNDS CENTRAL

The Edmunds Central Oral Interp team advanced to regional competition.

EC competitors were Alanna Wiedrich, Serious; Jillian Fischer, Storytelling; and Readers' Theater with Grace Roth, Lily Roth, Theodore Haerter, and Jillian Fischer.
